Welcome to the Friends in Ministry Group! My name is Cindy Lyons and I started Friends In Ministry Facebook Group in February of 2012. I serve currently with my husband at High St. Baptist Church in Springfield, MO. Eddie and I spent many years in the Philippines as missionaries and absolutely loved that season of our lives. We actually grew up there as missionary kids as well. We knew each other as kids and got married in 1984. In 2001, God called us to the States to serve at High Street Baptist Church. We have five children and have been on this journey for a while. I have a heart for women in ministry. I have gone through the best of times as well as those times that make you want to quit! I know that to make it for the long haul, we need friends in the ministry that understand and encourage us. I felt God leading me to start Friends In Ministry in an effort to connect and to develop those friendships. We want to share articles, resources, conferences and books that have been helpful in encouragement and inspiration as we serve God.
We want this group to be a source of encouragement, so we want to avoid any adversarial conversation, or any conversation that divides. We have so much in common and can truly make a difference in each others lives as well as pray for each other. We want to create a safe place for all of us to share and to just learn from each other. If you have a personal matter that you don’t want the whole group to see, remember you can always private message any of us if you want to talk or have us pray.
